Welcome to Vol. 59 of Email Advice in Your Inbox

Our FINAL Volume for 2025!

This time of the year is always bitter/sweet.

As everyone winds down (our community included), we’re all given some time to mentally recover and reflect on what the year has thrown at us.

At the same time, it’s an opportunity to look ahead at what’s to come, and boy, do we have some ambitious plans for 2026 ahead!

We’re big on planning, making time to reflect, and focusing on what makes a difference for everyone who’s part of this journey with us.

With that in mind, we’ve got one more email with YOU taking centre stage!

We’ll be looking back at some of your highlights from 2025, what you’ve been up to in these emails, and also what’s on the horizon in this space for 2026 and beyond.

Give me one last ride on a sunset sky lane for 2025, and let’s do this thing!

What have we found to expand your email knowledge today?

For the last time this year, here are a few of our favourite links from across the email and business world, carefully curated to help you take your emails to new heights next year:

Bonus! We track every single link clicked from this section. Here’s the link folks clicked the most this year so far (spoiler alert: It’s one of the best interactive emails out of 2025…and it features dinosaurs 🦖)

We’re constantly on the lookout for new resources, news, tools and links, so hit us up if you’ve got something valuable to feature for 2026!

This week, it’s about you {{name|Friends}}!

We know, you’re probably thinking “ah, another wrapped email with generic content recaps from 2025”…

The good news is we’re personalising things a little as we close things out for 2025, and you’re at the centre of that (as we hope you always are in this community).

Today, we’ve got a little treat to tell you exactly what you’ve been up to in these emails as a treat to say thanks for the phenomenal year that’s been!

Last year, we simply wrapped up with a recap of the year that was, but that didn’t feel like enough.

So, taking some inspiration from Spotify (the OGs of the wrapped game), and having seen some seriously brilliant examples here, we thought we’d share in the fun.

Ready to see how you’ve been part of this journey? Take a look at your personalised recap below!

You first joined us on {{when_you_first_joined_us|today’s Volume}}

(It’s felt like forever, but we’re so glad you’re still here!)

You joined our community via {{where_you_joined_us_from|our website}}

(Something must have impressed you 😉)

We’ve sent you {{emails_received_this_year|only this email}} emails this year

(And so many more to come, so stick around!)

Your open rate this year was {{open_rate_2025|100}}% in 2025

(That’s not bad at all)

Your average click rate was {{click_rate_2025|100}}% for the year

(And we tracked every single click since - because it matters!)

And, the last time you opened an email from us was {{the_last_time_you_opened_an_email_in_2025|today!}}

(By the way, if ever there was an email to open, it’s this one)

What do ya think?

We had a heap of fun doing this for you, {{name|Friend}}, but there’s also a reason we do this:

Because you matter!

We’re not getting all soppy as we say goodbye to 2025, but seriously, these emails wouldn’t be what they are without you.

While you’re here, we also have a tiny favour to ask…

In the hopes of sending emails into 2026 that mean something to you, we’d love to ask for 30 seconds or less of your time.

Please let us know what you’d like to hear from us in the new year by hitting that big button below 👇🏻

We seriously appreciate you!

We also have a few predictions as we look towards the new year…

2025 was a pretty big year for email, and A LOT was happening; however, with so much going on, here’s our quick take on what you’ll want to keep an eye out for in 2026:

1. AI is here to stay, folks

Yep, as inboxes begin prioritising AI summaries and overviews, these will be the standard to conform to, so begin planning how you’re going to optimise your content to adapt to these.

2. Interactive email is growing

As interactive email adoption gains traction, email platforms are going to begin adding more functionality to drive interactive email design and execution.

It’s such a logical progression and experience enhancement for email recipients, so think about how you’ll benefit from adding this to your mix.

3 . Engagement will take centre stage

It’s already happening in Gmail, Yahoo and a heap of inboxes. If you aren’t driving for engagement, you’re going to lose the email battle.

This is where your value, email practices and audience selection come in. Be ruthlessly intentional about who you attract, who you remove, and how you build an audience that actually interacts, because this already matters more than you realise.

Seriously, though, it’s so tough to predict, because things (read the internet) change so quickly, but forewarned is forearmed, as they say.

Our friend, Beth O’Malley, also shared some seriously insightful predictions here, so take a look as you begin to wind down and plan for the year ahead.

There you have it, and we hope 2026 is your best year in email yet!

Shoppers are adding to cart for the holidays

One more (relatable) laugh for 2025

What would a “wrapped” email be without some form of wrapped fun?

If you’re on LinkedIn, this gem by our good friend, Jay Schwedelson, hit the right notes.

Seriously, let’s try a new DM strategy next year…

Before you head out, and once again, thank you!

We consider everyone here a friend, and we hope you’re going to stick with us as we build on this into the new year.

We can’t do it without you!

We hope you have a good break over the holidays, and ring in the new year with peace, prosperity, and tons of all things good.

(P.S. Feel free to share your year wrapped with your friends and colleagues, and brag a little here).

We’ll be back in your inbox in Jan, so see you soon.

Your friend in email,

Des
